As one of the most reputable training institutions for neuro linguistic programming in the country, there is one question that we often encounter a lot – what is NLP? People tend to think of such treatments as extremely complex although that isn’t necessarily the case. NLP techniques are all geared towards achieving one thing – recognising and replicating excellent qualities in people!
So the question remains – what is NLP coaching? To best understand the matter, we can delve into what the term actually means. So again NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and from there it’s easy to see that it involves 3 important things:
- Neurology – regulates bodily functions
- Language – the manner in which we communicate with people
- Programming – the manner in which we interpret and perceive the world
We create our experience through our nervous system which is backed by our five senses – sight, touch, smell, taste and hearing. We then code those experiences through language and give them meaning as we see fit. Lastly, the meanings that we draw from our experiences are then stored and used as we anticipate and aim for certain results in life. From all these, it’s easy to see how positive influences across all 3 processes can bring about life-changing results.
